Title:
Narcissus flycatcher on twig of a flowering tree
Artist:
Ohara Koson (1871-1945)
Description:
A rare print. The petals on the blossoms are dry-printed so well that they look like brush-strokes. The entire print is rendered loosely when you get up close, but when you step back from it, it looks tightly realistic. It reminds me of the Impressionists. Check out the "Large" picture below and you'll see what I mean. It's got the "Koson" signature and seal.
This print was originally for sale for $625.00, but got sold as a "deal of the day".
Class:
shin hanga kacho print
Image Size:
34.5 x 18.7 cm (13.6 x 7.4 inches)

(4.5 / 5.0) - Margins are trimmed, but for prints published by Daikokuya, this is not considered a flaw. Very lightly toned overall.
