Title:
Ushigome Kagurazaka
Artist:
Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949)
Description:
An alternate title for this print is "Evening at Ushigome". This is a recarved, later edition of a design originally published in August 1939. Perhaps it was completely recarved, perhaps only partially. The publisher's name "Doi Eiichi" places it as a post-war production. It was printed by Kenji Seki, who started working for Doi in 1964. Typically for a Seki print, the coloration is a bit too vibrant for a rainy evening.
