Noel Nouet (1885-1969)
Noel Nouet was a French artist who lived in Tokyo, working as a language instructor. Doi commissioned some print designs from him. Nouet's inking style was full of curly lines, which would have been very difficult to carve. Some collectors (myself included) believe that Doi used a photographic metal plate process to produce the keyblocks for Nouet's designs.
A very attractive print design. Too bad about the fading.
