Takahashi Shotei (1871-1945) - You can find lots of information about Shotei on my All About Takahashi Shotei page. He used various art names, such as Hiroaki, Rakutei, and Kakei.
A rare pre-quake design, all in blue (ai-zuri). A close look at this print reveals a lot of visual dimensions. There is a man in a launch talking with a woman on the shore in the foreground. A stately tree and house just behind them. Some sailboats with a village behind them. In the background a classic Shotei mountain scene. Watanabe's inventory number (No. 357) at the bottom verso is proof that this is a pre-quake print. That same inventory number in the post-quake 1936 catalog is for an ukiyo-e reprint.
