An Oil Painting by Shôtei Here is an oil painting, on stretched canvas, by Takahashi Shôtei. The dimensions are 17 7/8 x 14 1/2 inches. There is no way that that sky could have been done in a block print. For me, it's very exciting to see how he worked when freed from the constraints of that medium. The signature is Shôtei's signature. I've never seen that seal before, nor can I read it. This painting is presented here for our enjoyment, courtesy of the owner, who prefers to remain anonymous.
