Fay Kahn - Gallery Page 2
These images are created by using a batik method of applying color in layers.
Melted wax is used to "save" certain colors and shapes, starting with the lightest hues and
working toward the darker colors.
Thin Japanese paper easily accepts the wax and adds to the final luminosity of the
watercolors.
I am especially interested in creating colorful images that depict the world around us in a
way that engages the imagination, and reveals an appreciation of its beauty and wonder.
